Have you ever wanted to save time and money while having the same experience of dining out and having Korean BBQ with your friends or family? Here is how you can enjoy the convenience of having your favorite Asian meal right at home using objects that you probably already have.
The first step in making an outdoor Korean BBQ picnic table is to gather standard sized wooden pallets. These are available at your local shopping areas or grocery shops and can be bought for a cheap price if not given to you for free. At least nine wooden pallets are needed for this project but might require more if you are planning to make a bigger-sized table.
Once obtained, cut four wooden pallets into two equal pieces so as to produce two rectangular shaped pallets. Afterwards, cut each rectangular piece into a trapezoid. Make sure that you are able to make eight trapezoid-shaped pallets that have precise measurements on each side and with one another.
The next step is to glue the sides of the trapezoid-shaped pallets into the shape of an octagon. In order to do this, you could use wood glue or professional grade super glue. Do this in such a way that the narrow ends of the pallets are facing each other and having glued each pallet side to side would produce an octagon-shaped table with a hole in the middle.
Now, that you have your table, the next step is to make a compartment for your Korean grill. In this case, a circular Korean grill is advisable. Measure the inner octagonal shape of the table and use one pallet to produce the shape. Afterwards, take your circular Korean grill and use its measurements to cut a hole in the middle of the shape that you produced. This shall be glued to the inner hole of the table. Make sure that the grill fits perfectly into the compartment before proceeding to the next step.
A table is nothing without legs and to make these, simply take four wooden pallets and attach one end of each under your octagon-shaped table using nails or wood glue. Assemble them in a way that follows the octagon shape of the table but skipping one table pallet after placing one leg pallet. Finish the table off with two coats of varnish. One coat should be applied immediately after you have made the table so as to protect its exterior.
Make sure that all the sides and corners of the table are coated including the parts under it. After the first coat has completely dried, put a second coat to make the table more durable.
Now you have your own outdoor octagonal Korean BBQ picnic table. You can finally save more time in travelling to a Korean restaurant to eat your favorite Korean cuisine and enjoy the food in the comfort of your own backyard with your family and friends. Prepare your Korean BBQ ingredients, place your grill on the table and you’re all set.
