Note that majority of the router table is made out of 3 pieces of plywood.
IT should have a fence that allows straight cuts. There is usually a port on the back for the vacuum. The router sits into the tabletop, flush together. There is a clear plexiglass to easily see through the router. The router table has dividers to store stuff such as safety glasses and tools.

Steps in Building the Wooden Benchtop Router Table
Step 1: Cut Plywood
Prepare two sheets of plywood with measurements compliant to your woodworking plan. The first plywood is for the top and bottom bases. Meanwhile, the second plywood is for the sides and dividers.
Get your saw blade and measure for a gap between the blade itself and its protecting sides for precise measurements and for a neater finish.
Elevate your plywood with pieces of wood to prevent accidental cuts in the working table.
Step 2: Measure Pieces Accurately
Provide a jig for repeatable, accurate pieces. It is suggested to measure dividers and pencil lines at 4 inches. However, consult your woodworking plan whether this is applicable or not.
Ensure that the edges are uniform.
Put the second recently cut portion of the plywood below. Stop it at the pencil mark. Proceed to cut the pencil mark, and repeat as desired.
Step 3: Proceed to Assembly
To assemble is simple yet important for pieces to become equally divided.
Take a divider and stick it to the base. Mark spots with a pencil. Use T-square to measure where the middle divider has to go. Put nails in place of the plywood, conforming to the position of the dividers. Put glue on each of the dividers’ edges. Put the back in place.
Attach larger base. Place equally on both sides. Clearance holes must be larger than the diameter of a screw. Fill bottom part with drilled holes. Drill with screws afterwards. Mount the other top by assembling with cut top.
Step 4: Make the Hole for the Route
Make the hole with jigsaw first. Next, put the route inside of the plate. Measure circle with compass with customized size fit for your router.
Drill a clearance hole. Use jigsaw to cut the rest of the circle (6 inches). Get 8-inch base set for the table top.
Get jig around the square for an embedded effect around the router.
Cut plexiglass for protective covering. Drill holes in the glass. The screw should sit below the plate for a stable effect.
Step 5: Create the Fence
Get three long plywood pieces. Drill holes to allow router’s wires to function. Make sure that the nails sit below the surface.
Step 6: Make a Piece for the Vacuum Port
Cut a right triangle. On a separate piece of wood, cut a circle fit for the vacuum hose. Attach the fence at the top.
Step 7: Install Additional Components
Proceed by making pegboards and drawers fit for the dividers you have made.
